济宁持续打造“运河记忆”项目。古运河沿岸文化资源丰富，涵盖东大寺、太白楼等古迹、古街，总面积约11平方公里、水域面积约3.2公顷。该项目通过开发有历史记忆、时尚元素的文旅项目，使其成为展现济宁“运河之都”的文化会客厅。

为保护运河原真古貌，2022年4月28日，南运河德州段全线通水，德州成为长江、黄河、漳卫河“三水”汇合之地，再现“九曲十八弯”壮丽美景。
